Redshirted last season after having right shoulder surgery in December 2006...a big right-hander (6-5, 240) who was one of the Bears' top high school recruits in 2007...throws in the mid to high 80s with a curveball and change-up.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At Acalanes High School was a three-time all-league pitcher...as a junior had 70 strikeouts and 17 walks in 59.2 innings, yielding only eight runs for a 0.94 ERA...in the summer of 2005 pitched a one-hit shutout in the championship game of the 17U Junior World Wood Bat Association National Tournament in Marietta, Ga., helping his NorCal baseball club to a co-national championship...undeclared major...parents are Dennis and Ann Diemer...born March 25, 1988 in Walnut Creek, Calif.
